Yoga

The idea of creation of this e-shop was our love towards Yoga. It all started with Yoga.

Nevertheless, we assure that we also use these mats to practice any kind of sport that require a mat. Our daughter and dog also enjoy the mat 😊

Still, the idea started with Yoga, so we will try to present this discipline to you.

In many sources you will find that word Yoga means union. Nowadays we see Yoga as a physical exercise that is based on the guided breathing, though Yoga is primarily a spiritual discipline! Yoga is an ancient and complex practice, rooted in Indian philosophy. It is a spiritual practice but has become popular as a way of promoting physical and mental well-being.

Yoga is an ancient system of philosophies, principles and practices derived from the tradition of India and the Himalayas, more than 2500 years ago! There is no written record of the inventor of yoga.

Male yoga practitioners are known as yogis, and female – yoginis. Both practiced and taught yoga long time before any written account of yoga came into reality.

The Yoga Sutra is the earliest written record of yoga (more than 2000 years old) and one of the oldest texts in existence and delivers the framework for all modern yoga.

It is a system that identifies the multi-dimensional nature of the human, and primarily relates to the nature and mechanisms of the mind, based on experiential practice and self-enquiry.

In Yoga, the body, breath, and mind are a union of these multi-dimensional aspects of every person. The system and various techniques of Yoga nurture the experience of that union, leading to greater integration of being, internal serenity, and clarity of the mind. It is a system that is made to promote health and happiness, as well as sense of self-awareness.

We can say that Yoga is an approach to life that centers on the appropriate effort, based on equilibrium and harmony, within each human being and with each other.
